Three. Listen and read.
T: Let‘s listen to the tape.
1. Have Ss look at the page and point to each picture for Ss to follow. T: What‘s Jenny doing? [ Ss: She‘s talking.] T: What is Ben doing? [ Ss: He‘s digging.] T: What is Lisa doing?[Ss: She‘s laughing.] T: Let‘s listen to the tape and read the story.
2. Play Ss into four groups and give them the roles of Jenny, Gogo, Ben and Lisa . Encourage groups to add voice expressions and actions.
Step Four . Read and say
1. T: Listen to the tape and repeat. Point to each word as you say it.
2. Have Ss listen, repeat and point to each picture.
3. Play the tape again, and have
Ss repeat each word.
Step Five Homework.
The Second Period
Step One . Greetings.
Step Two : Presentation
Have Ss look at the pictures on the page. T: ( Point to picture 1.) What‘s that? [Ss: It‘s a tree.] T: ( Point to picture 3.) What ?s he doing? [Ss: He‘s digging.] T: Is he digging slowly? ( Use actions to demonstrate this.) [Ss: Yes , he is.]
Step Three. Read and say.
Play the tape a few times, pausing after each sentence for Ss to repeat. Put Ss into pairs and have them practice saying the dialog to each other. Step Four. Practice
