2. Ask the students to listen the Grand Theatre, “Jenny’s Birthday”.
3. Encourage the students to answer the following questions.
(1) Who is arriving at Jenny’s house?
(2) When do they arrive at her house?
(3) Why do they come to Jenny’s house?
(4) Who’s giving Jenny a parcel?
(5) What’s in the parcel?
(6) What are the children playing at Jenny’s birthday party?
(7) How do they feel at Jenny’s birthday party?
4. Play the cassette: Jenny’s birthday. Students listen and follow the tape.
5. Play the cassette again. Students listen and repeat.
6. Make the students understand some phrases: arrive at her house, give Jenny a parcel, put…in…, blow out the candles, run around the chair, have a great time
7. According to the text and fill in the blanks.
8. Invite some students to retell the text.
III. Post-task activities:
1. Show a student’s birthday video or birthday photos. Ask the students to describe their birthday.
2. Write something about your birthday. (offer some questions.)
(1) When is your birthday?
(2) Do you often have birthday parties?
(3) Who did you invite to your birthday party last time?
(4) What did you play?
