The Banana Tree

　　A king had three sons whom he loved equally well， and he did not know which of them to appoint as king following his own death.

　　When the time came for him to die he called them to his bed and said， “Dear children， I have thought of something that I will reveal to you. The one of you is the laziest shall become king after me.”

　　The oldest one said， “Father， then the kingdom belongs to me， for I am so lazy that whenever I lie down to sleep， and a drop falls into my eyes， I will not even close them so that I can fall asleep.”

　　The second one said， “Father， the kingdom belongs to me， for I am so lazy that when I am sitting by the fire warming myself， I would rather let my heels burn up than to pull my legs back.”

　　The third one said， “Father， the kingdom is mine， for I am so lazy that if I were going to be hanged and already had the rope around my neck， and someone put into my hand a sharp knife with which to cut the rope， I would let myself be hanged rather than to lift my hand up to the rope.”

　　When the father heard this he said， “You have taken it the farthest and shall be king.”

　　在一個遙遠(yuǎn)的地方，有一個國王，他有三個兒子，對每一個兒子他都非常喜愛，他不知道自己死后應(yīng)該把王位傳給他們?nèi)齻�中的哪一個。所以，當(dāng)他快要死的時候，就把他們叫到身邊說：“親愛的孩子們，在我死后，你們?nèi)齻�中誰最懶，誰就繼承我的王位。”老大說：“既然這樣，這王位就是我的，因為我是最懶的兒子，當(dāng)我躺下睡覺時，有任何東西落到我的眼睛里，我也懶得去擦掉，即使不能把眼睛閉上，我仍然會繼續(xù)睡覺。”二兒子說：“爸爸，王位應(yīng)該傳給我，因為我是最懶的兒子。當(dāng)我坐在火邊取暖的時候，就是火燃到我的腳趾，我也懶得把腿收回來。”第三個兒子說：“爸爸，這王位是我的，因為我是你最懶的兒子，如果我就要被吊起來，繩子已經(jīng)套在了脖子上香蕉樹

　　很久以前在這片森林里面有一棵唯一的香蕉樹.香蕉樹上有兩串香蕉.有三個來自山村的孩子.他們正在觀察香蕉的成長.有四只來自這片森林的猴子.他們正在觀察香蕉的成長.孩子們在每一天下午六點鐘看香蕉.猴子們在每一天早上六點鐘看香蕉.這三個孩子和這四只猴子非常興奮.很快香蕉就能吃了.他們?nèi)�部七個人都想吃香蕉.一天傍晚孩子們跑到香蕉樹.八只色彩鮮艷的蝴蝶正落在香蕉上.香蕉差不多成黃顏色了."現(xiàn)在讓我們吃香蕉.""不,他們沒有熟呢."

　　Once upon a time there was a single banana tree in the jungle. Two bunches of bananas were on the banana tree. There were three children from a village. They were watching the bananas grow. There were four monkeys from the jungle. They were watching the bananas grow. The children looked at the bananas at five o’clock in the afternoon everyday. The monkeys looked at the bananas at six o’clock in the morning everyday. The three children and the four monkeys were very excited.Soon the bananas would be ready to eat. All seven of them wanted to eat the bananas. One evening the children ran to the banana tree.There were eight colorful butterflies sitting on the bananas. The bananas were almost yellow."Let’s eat the bananas now.""No,they are not ripe."

　　第二天早上猴子們看到香蕉.有九粒露水在香蕉上發(fā)光.這三個孩子跑到香蕉樹旁,把香蕉作為早餐.這四只猴子從一棵樹到另一棵樹搖蕩來到香蕉樹.十點鐘了.猴子們和孩子們要把香蕉當(dāng)作早餐.孩子們看到猴子們感到非常煩亂.猴子們看到孩子們感到非常煩亂.孩子們非常害怕猴子們拿走所有的香蕉.猴子們害怕孩子們拿走所有的香蕉.孩子們很餓.他們也很疲倦.猴子們很餓.他們也很疲倦.孩子們太疲倦了而不能扔石頭.猴子們太疲倦了而不能扔木棍."我很餓.""我也是."

　　，有人把一把鋒利的小刀塞在我手里，要我切斷繩子，我寧愿被吊起來也懶得抬起手把繩子割斷。”父親聽到這里說道：“你是最合適的人選，你應(yīng)該繼承王位。”

　　The next morning the monkeys looked at the bananas. There were nine drops of dew sparkling on the bananas. The three children ran to the bananas tree for breakfast. The four monkeys swung from tree to tree to get to the banana tree.It was 10 o’clock.The monkeys and children wanted bananas for breakfast. The children were very upset to see the monkeys. 　　猴子們和孩子們享用了他們的早餐.他們也明白了分享比爭斗更好.

　　The monkeys and the children enjoyed their breakfast. They also learned that sharing is better than fighting.
