  I. Objectives

  1. Unit 14 Dialogue

  2. Unit 13 Work with Language

  3. Vocabulary: polar bear, giraffe, elephant, bear, snake, deer, kill, rule, Africa, Why not?

  II. Procedures

  1. Warming up

  (1) Whole class read Unit 13

  (2) Ask some pupils to act out Unit 13

  (3) Look at the pictures and say: Don’t…

  2. Pre-task

  (1) T: Xiaoling and Janet are visiting the zoo now. This is Unit 14 They Are Visiting the Zoo

  (2) Watch TV and tell your classmates what animal they are visiting. (

  電腦呈現(xiàn))Monkeys and a lion.

  (3) Watch again. Are there anything you don’t understand?

  (4) Learn the new words: rule, (zoo rule, park zoo, school rule), kill, Africa, Why not?

  (5) Who class read, remember and check the new words.

  (6) Read the dialogue after the tape.

  (7) Whole class read the dialogue.

  (8) Take notes:

  Don’t give them your banana.

  Why not?

  Don’t go too near.

  Who knows?

  (9) Read in groups and try to act it out.

  3. While-task and post-task

  (1) Xiaoling and Janet are still visiting the zoo. What animals are they visiting?

  (2) Present: monkey, tiger, panda, turtle, frog, kangaroo,

  (3) Teach: polar bear, giraffe, elephant, bear, snake, deer

  (4) Game: remember the animals’ name in an easy way.

  (5) Game: match the word with the pictures.

  4. Homework

  (1) Look, listen and read the dialogue.

  (2) Copy the new word and dialogue.

  (3) Draw the animals and write their names.

  I. Objectives

  3. Unit 15 Story time

  4. Did you know?( To broaden the pupils’ cultural knowledge by getting them to think about wild animals and their habitats. Human being should try to protect the animals.)

  II. Procedures

  1. Warming up

  (1) Sound families:

  Chant: ir/ / See a girl.

  igh/ / Turn on the right.

  ur /  / Help the nurse.

  th/  / Thank you very much.

  th /  / Go home with her father.

  (2) Whole class read Unit 14 Dialogue

  (3) Act out the dialogue.

  (4) Game: What animals are they?

  polar bears, giraffes, elephants, snakes, deer (* a deer, some deer), kangaroos

  deer的用法與fish, goldfish, sheep一樣

  2. Presentation

  (1) T: What does a polar bear look like? (Repeat)

  P: It looks like a bear. It’s white.

  (2) Practise: What does a … look like?

  It looks like a … It’s…
